what a terrible batting display by the proteas.this display was just not good enough and we must hope for rain or a miracle from faf and de kock and remaining batsman to save this test.i think it's time for duminy to be dropped from the test team, bavuma is not good enough and we need to find a quality opener to partner elgar.just my opinion.

Thank you rain, you saved the Proteas arse. Another away winning series now for the over rated commonwealth team aka England.

A good squad to be excited about :cheer: Duminy off form at the moment, the only weak link. Behardien will only warm the bench, he wont make it to the final eleven unless they drop Duminy.

Ngidi, was still rusty after the injury when I saw him bowling in the One Day Cup hence left out. Aiden Markram could be slightly aggrieved. He is a top order batsmen but our top 6 is pretty much set in stone except for Duminy who wont get dropped. Markram does bowl spin though.

My starting XI in batting order

Hashim Amla, Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, AB de Villiers (capt), JP Duminy, David Miller, Chris Morris, Dwaine Pretorius, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir.

Morkel or Keshav can replace any of the all rounders depending on the bowling conditions. Parnell still wayward but does it take wickets but more of a hit and miss.

Drop Duminy and you can get more variables to the starting XI

I am so happy they did not take Philander.... I do agree, looks a well balanced squad, although much like you Naresh, Berhardien is a no no imo.(in saying that could just be due to my pet hate, much like Elton Jantjies lol).

I see the"main XI" as -

Amla , De Kock , Faf , AB , Miller , Duminy , Morris , Phehlukwayo , Rabada , Morkel , Tahir....

not a great loss as the attack is still strong and i think that he is now well past his best for a test series against one of the better sides in cricket. Radaba, Morkel, Philander and Oliver will do the job if they all can stay fit. Going to be a great series and i hope that its not won in one session where the bowling side have all the cloud cover and the ball swings all over the place. Going for a series draw.

Test cricket is dying. Now Warner of Australia comes out and says that Australia wont have a team for the Ashes as the pay offered to play for Australia is "laughable" and that all of the players will now start playing in the 20/20 tournaments around the world.
