At 344/5 this match is gone as far as the Proteas are concerned. Sweet FA fight just going through the motions. The only question is will it finish on Saturday or Sunday.

The Proteas unfortunately could not be clinical again, dropped catches, no balls, poor fielding. Let England right off the hook and are now chasing the game. If they do not remove Root or Ali quickly this morning they could be staring at 500 plus. This wicket is very fair providing something for both bat and ball but it will deteriorate. If there was a market I would be backing that SA do not avoid the follow on, don't think England would enforce it anyway.

As you say shrek i also doubt if England will enforce a follow on as the authorities wont be too happy if the match ends on Saturday or Sunday. Good for the players if it did as the 2nd test starts next friday. This series has 4-0 written all over it.

No idea, line and length outside off stump always does the trick as they don't leave as well as top order batsmen.

The new ball has looked dangerous going to be an interesting 4 over spell before lunch.

well our guys did better than i expected today.hopefully they can bat for most of day 3 and make it interesting for the public.if de kock can come to the party then this will be an exciting game.i know i am clutching at straws,but at least i can hope we can still make a fight in this game.lol.

Makes absolutely no sense to me that our 2nd best test Batsman and our main hope for changing the game around in our favour is coming in at 8... I would rather him come in at 5 and go out for a duck, atleast offering him a chance to change the game than him coming in at 8, scoring 20no and running out of partners....
