What the £5BN deal means to the clubs

Taken from a bbc article, i think we will soon see the Messis and the like in the EPL

What does this deal mean for Premier League clubs?

It is great news. This incredible sum of money means the club that finishes bottom of the Premier League in the 2016-17 season will pocket £99m.

The champions will earn more than £150m in prize money and that is before additional fees are paid to clubs who stage more TV matches than others.

In the past, we have seen increased TV deals spent on better players, bigger transfer fees and higher wages. That is likely to happen again, at least to some extent, and may even help England's best clubs bridge the gap to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the Champions League.

It also means that all 20 Premier League clubs will break into the top 30 richest clubs in the world - currently they all occupy a place in the top 40. Burnley are richer than Ajax.

But this deal takes the Premier League into a new stratosphere and it is bound to have a lasting impact on the field. It may not be all that long until we see the first £100m Premier League player, who is paid £500,000 per week.

Sky subscriptions will now go up and we have to listen to Carraghers terrible Scouse accent for another 3 years. The mute button on the remote is going to sink into the remote

Platini will hate this.

Aside from the obvious benefits for English club football of getting the worlds best into The Premier League brand the most striking thing that I have noticed on my trips overseas is the improvement in spectator facilities. Using The Etihad as an example the match day experience cannot be compared to Maine Road.

it is great for the clubs and the premier league but not so hot for English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish international football. We now need regulations that force clubs to use British players. Maybe a 50/50 split in the squad with no fewer than 5 on the pitch.

Tottenham are a selling club. Maybe when they sell Harry Kane it will be to an English club and not Real Madrid.

One thing The Premier League needs is atmosphere at most clubs,I've seen a few games and unless it's a big derby game or important cup match the noise is mute.
It would be great to have a standing section in each stadium.

Scottish, Welsh and Irish international football? They are out of scope.

and there we go. Sky going up by £2.50 a month from the beginning of July. Greedy players and Sky workers. They can never earn enough money. A certain player under the age of 20 on £30k a week was offered a new contract worth £70k a week and he rejected it. His reason been that he could not come out on only £70k a week. So they are now paying him £100k a week.

clubs are too blame as they pay the players far too much. Did you know that most clubs in the EPL pay their normal staff minimum wage?
