more interested in the Arsenal match. Saw snatches of the Chelsea game when channel hopping. Chelsea are far too good and wise when it comes to the big matches. Fully deserve the title this season. Should be a cracker at Arsenal next week.

That was so unfortunate by the Reading keeper, but he is an Aussie so he should be playing that ping pong game Australian Rules instead of football in Europe

Disappointing. There for the taking and didn't do it. Not sure if United had scored though that the possession stats would have been quite so lop-sided! No point talking about best performance of the season, have to accept and understand that United were pretty much allowed to have that possession, if you can't turn it into goals or at least batter them and be unlucky then very questionable how good a performance it was. It would "seem" progress is being made but big strides forward still necessary imo.

Chelsea's players were simply superior to Manchester United players yesterday. In key moments and in key areas of the pitch, Chelsea's individuals were too strong. Yes, United dominated possession and played the better football. But Thibaut Courtois' first save of the day didn't arrive until after an hour. The one clear chance Chelsea had was taken by Eden Hazard. In contrast, United's best effort came from Radamel Falcao's reaction shot, which was blocked superbly by Gary Cahill. And it was like that all over the pitch. Marouane Fellaini failed to get over the man-marking of Kurt Zouma. Wayne Rooney did his best midfield stuff in the middle third of the pitch, but closer to Courtois' goal, he was crowded out by Nemanja Matic and Zouma. United dominated the game, but barely laid a glove on Chelsea.

Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United: Mourinho thrilled with game-plan

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho said Manchester United's important players were "in our pockets" in a match that went "exactly" as they wanted.

United dominated possession, but barely laid a glove on Chelsea. Though that was possibly more through "poor" finishing in my book... Rooney's effort in the 4th minute, Mata's (somewhat difficult to execute) chance that bounced over the bar with the keeper looking beat and Falcao's one that hit the angle were all clearer chances than the one DTF mentioned imo.
The way the game was played I don't think you can really compare performances but, at the end of the day United failed to score and that is what they should be looking at for me. Hopefully they do that behind closed doors because talking up performances like that won't get United anywhere.

I thought Shaw and McNair were brilliant.

Bob, I don't think there can be any denying that Chelsea had a plan and for the vast majority of the game they executed it well.
