Let me add my views; agree with most that India threw away that game by

1. Taking the batting power play to early and losing their way completely in the last 10 overs
2. Giving the last over to Nehra and not Harbejan - I also doubt if we would have hit him for 14 in that over - especially Peterson

Team selection - a real poser - on form I agree that Smith should make way (won't happen of course) and let van Wyk do what he is best at - opening the innings (and AB is apparently unable to keep wicket, so we have to have van Wyk); altermatively (if Smith plays) move Amla to 3. Bowlers - now here's a real tough one; Tahir probably a match winner, so has to play; Botha though did nothing really wrong and he is not a monkey with the bat - if Smith goes we can perhaps play 3 spinners or 2 spinners + Tsotsobe - leaves the batting a little short though - glad I'm not a selector - what ever they do, there will be critcism

Cricket is not a pastime in India. I saw on the Indian channel NDTV that the fans are asking for Dhoni's head. I will not be surprised to see a few houses burnt. They view it as a game that India threw away. Even talking about match fixing.

East, they did through the game away, the Indian public have every right to be outraged. If the scenario was reversed and Steyn had an over up his sleeve and Smith through the ball to Duminy we would have been up in arms if SA lost.

Harbhajan conceded only 10 runs in his 3 previous overs and was very difficult to hit plus the batsmen would have needed to create their own pace. For a captain with as much experience as Dhoni to bowl Nehra instead of Harbhajan, smells of a rat. To score 14 off Harbhajan's over would have been very difficult, not imposible but very difficult. I recon the ICC should look into irregular betting patterns towards the end of the game.

another low score by Smith but he is far too good a player to have a poor tournament. He will score big runs when it really counts in the quarters and semis.

Positive move to see Van Vyk batting at no 3 .... Against Bangladesh they should experiment with Van Vyk opening the batting and use Smith as a floater?
