I have never ridden a horse in a race but drive my car on the freeways reguarly and if i am going faster than the car in the middle lane in front of me and he starts to wonder into my lane a little it forces me to take my foot off the accelerator, i lose my momentum and when he goes back into his lane it takes a while for me to get back to the speed that i was going in order to go past him, surely the same applies to horses when you are carried out +-10 horse widths it has to take your momentum away and throw you off balance so i feel it is a very brave man to say you wouldnt have run half a length faster. If you watch turning for home Danish Silver was two lengths behind Mr Premier and was making up the ground quite quickly when the interference happened,

I agree 100% with big t. Its all about momentum. Greyville is a short straight. Its very hard for a horse to lose momentum and pick it up immediately especially since Danish Silver was carrying top weight and Mr Premier was rolling with a featherweight.

Did not see the race as I was waiting to find out if the stipes asked the jockey of Miss Diana what master plan he had when looking behind him for the first 600mt giving the other runners a decent start?...................:S
With regards above post at this stage looks as if we have 9 posters for the objection to be upheld and 2 over rule and agree with stipes.
forums are fun

Also agree 100% with Mr T.
Rules are "man made" , depends how the incident is viewed. Another day, another stipe, another result.
Here-in lies a recipe for abuse (or where your money lies).

At approximately the 300 metre mark MR. PREMIER (ARG) (*A Mgudlwa) hanging out, shifted out carrying DANISH SILVER (C Orffer) outwards for a number of strides.
An objection was lodged by Jockey C Orffer on behalf of the third placed horse DANISH SILVER against the winner, MR. PREMIER (ARG) (*A Mgudlwa) on the grounds of being carried off a straight course in the straight. After considering the evidence presented, viewing the patrol videos from the various angles and considering the distance between these two horses as declared by the Judge, the Board was of the opinion that DANISH SILVER (C Orffer) would not have beaten MR. PREMIER (ARG) (*A Mgudlwa) and therefore over-ruled the objection. The Judge's result was allowed to stand and the deposit was refunded. Race Replay

Surely there should have been an objection on the grounds of being carried off a straight course as WELL as intimidation?

Now if Lips was the stipe in question then what would he have been labelled?
