Val de Ra beat the colts at the colts at her first attempt

Whether Igugu actually does it does not make any difference to the premise that it's very possible for a filly to beat quality colts at the first time of asking...

Very true. This "a good colt will always beat a good filly" must be the dumbest saying in racing, which is saying something, but it still surfaces from time to time. :P

At this stage 14 say NO and 11 say YES

So anything around 4/1 should be regarded as value, unless you take into consideration that most of the Clan are insane (:P)

If you consider that most colts win the classics around the world compared to fillies that run against them then you'll realize why punters make these statements,
Secondly we are talking about igugu winning the july and not what other proven super fillies has done therefore I think its foolish to make comparisons, the whole argument is igugu has never raced against quality colts therefore I have strong reservations of her placing in the july, thank God she is drawn 10 so it makes my fancies charges stronger. I think I'm the only person that already has bets running on PM in the july and after watching yard arm carry close to top weight against dynasty (stbc) a couple of years ago, I think he'll give me a good run, my back up will be castlethorpe

It's the word "always" that makes that statement a nonsense, Not to mention that the word "good" is meaningless. What is "good"? Good isn't good enough if there's something better. A full house is a good hand, but it's not gonna help against a straight flush.>:D<

I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but Bad Company I remeber Dynasty giving Yard Arm weight in that July I think it was 53 to 51,5, the next July against Grey's Inn, Yard Arm carried top weight.

the whole issue around igugu is that by not exposing her to the older generation or opposite sex she races off a 109 that she has gained against her own age and sex...if he had exposed her who knows she could be a 113 to a 116 ...so mdk has actually protected her mr ,whether he did it on purpose is another question for another day

Pirates I agree, we can speculate as much as we like but, people will either be for her or against her and only the race will tell.

Yes she may be better than rated, but on the other hand she could be a 106 or a 103..... and as Shrek says people will have different opinions and only the race will tell; for me personally her current price is no value at all
