There is no doubt that our courses need attending to...but the pull up area @ Greyville gets very little sun due to the Tote board and Grandstand..this needs to be rectified ASAP but as things stand to have raced on Friday night would have been foolhardy and damn right dangerous to horse and Jock..had a horse/horses slipped and fallen after the winning post it would have been catastrophic and then all the "we must race" merchants would shrug their shoulders and blame the state of the track or management for allowing the meeting to proceed ..I agree that constructive critic is good but there are 1 or 2 posters that moan just for the sake of it and stick to their bullshit theory without wanting to hear the other side of the story...in fact they would be devastated if everything was perfect and they had nothing to moan about and would spend their time digging up anything to cry about.

Titch -

May I ask you a silly question.

If the pull up area is still soggy at Greyville, is it not possible to compact some sea sand in those areas that need it. It will help absorb some moisture.
They could dig up some sand from the "north pier". Just a thought. I am thinking ahead to Tuesday night.

What about borrowing the "super-sopper" from Kingsmead.

east the tote board and suites have been there for decades but hey maybe the sun rises and goes down in the north and south instead of east and west...they get paid for coming to work to go home not to think out the box...hard to believe we sent people to the moon over 40 yrs ago but gc cant solve a problem that has been around for decades

@ East
I can only assume that the problem is/will be addressed as the continued lose of race meetings would be a financial disaster to Gold Circle and a programming nightmare for trainers not to mention what it must be doing to Hiltons blood pressure, however lets not loose track of the fact that the heavy rains we have been experiencing is very unusual for this time of year and this problem was not a predictable one by any stretch of the imagination, I have no doubt it will be sorted in the very near future...
