what a lot of shit you guy are talking about young trainers,they have horses that coast millions,give them my trainers horses and lets see what they can do,pls what about de kocks assistants they are better, and probably 1 day he will be a great trainer but pls man stop sucking up to them now,1 day yes but not now when he has so many assistants helping him.

justin snaith took over from his father..mdk from ginsberg..u have mentioned three young trainers that have done well??? how many trainers have taken out their licenses and gone bust or battle from day to day??? alot more than the three that you mention that have done well..

and thats exactly why i say chesney van zyl is the forerunner of that group..he trains alone with a small string without supervision from his father or help from huge teams of staff and churns out gr1 winner after gr1 winner

Chesney is an exceptionally gifted young horseman with a natural born sense/feel for horses that no amount of money can buy. He is a child prodigy if ever there's been one in this business.

hi all
i disagree with 95% horse,
to be a successful trainer,one has to have relative skills,horsemanship.
If some of the trainers around had a Igugu in their yards,would probably be still a 1 time winner.
Matthew DK was born wid the silver spoon.Chesney did it the hard way.
B Marcus son was very successful a few years ago in KZN feature season.
But what of the real stalwart trainers,eg C Laird,A Laird,E Sands....
what % have children really want to be trainers?
