This is unacceptable as far as i am concerned, I once had a horse that we took down to Durban to run in a big race, the jockey we had on the horse turned around in the parade ring and said to me that he didnt want to ride my horse and should have been on another horse.
I was liverd- I new there and then that we had no chance.(The horse the jock mentioned ran last)
I confronted the trainer after the race and he said why didn't I tel him before as he would have taken the jock off (this was one of the top up cumming jocs)
This comes to my point if a jock refuses to ride a horse why not just get one of the registered work riders to ride your horse like in this case, you would have a better chance of having a decent run (yes I know that is not allowed ) but the jocs should take note refuse a ride give it to some one that wants to make a name and would ride to instructions.
Why have they got the work riders academy for then???

Hi Justin V,
Yes u may be correct that the agent accepted the ride and then declined when the draws came out. Still a very bad reflection on the jock if this is the case!

If im not mistaken Robbie Hill does Ant's rides in Durban...could it be that your trainer declared him on the horse without confirming??
