tote'al fcuk up

Like i said they not gonna see my money again .

They don't care if they loose a customer .

A while back i walked into a hollywood branch and called a bet of R10000 to 600 on a 16/1 shot the lady would not lay it to me cause she said its an overstretch . I tried to explain to her that its quite common . but anyway i left it and took the 9600/600 . Then i call abet of 2000/900 on a 22/10 shot . Same story sorry you cant have that stretch . I try explain but at this point i loose my cool and tell them to leave me alone and storm out of the branch .
I phone hollywood and they say Clyde will phone you . I say you have spoilt my punting pleasure .

Clyde phones me . i explain to him . He says it's unacceptable . He say's i will be contacted on monday about my complaint . I say he should not bother as i was really cheesed .

Monday get a call from Hollywood a very polite indian fellow . He says " i will put R2000 in your hollywood account for the inconvinience ".

now compare this experience with any experience from Phumelela .

I had stormed out of the branch not taking the bet yet he paid me out cause the 22/10 shot won the race .

I have NEVER met people like I do behind the counters at totes. I am not broadsiding here, I really feel there is a combination of cultural difference and complete miscommunication.
They are fecking useless in my opinion. Slow. Cheeky. Lacking empathy. Come across as government workers. Crap attitude. Sometimes abrupt to the point of being plain bad mannered and lacking any sort of upbringing. And have tried to cheat me on returns on more than one occasion.
There is one old tannie that is so effecient and if I am around she gets my business.

It is a disgrace. Seriously. Typical of the 'post office' worker -' feck you cause we know you have to come here'
To all the good post office guys and gals and the good tote clan.....orientate your co workers, throw drugs in their tea, offer them free condoms, ..... Death and cancer is when you look miserable or dying...

Many many punters over the years have been complaining about being short changed by tote machine operators...it even happens at Betting World and Hollywood in Dbn.

why would the tote operators care? Their bosses don't care or this would not be happening - Search ABC and you'll see all the comments about poor service years back and what has been done - Where are the area managers and their audits? Poor service and poor decisions are killing the tote not the open bet.

Neil can you imagine being in a supermarket ,with R2500 worth of goods, on the way to the checkout , 5 min after closing time . Then the manager switches off the tills and says to you come tomorrow !

I think not . To the supermarket owner thats R250 profit . To phumelela its worth R625 in profit for a 2 minute transaction . I estimate that equates to i guess 1/2 the weekly wage of a tote operator .

they are thick and have no clue about their customers !

Solotrama, you're going to give yourself a heart attack. Take a few deep breaths mate.....

On Good Friday and Easter Sunday I went to my local tote to play a couple of PA's on the meetings and surprised surprise the building was locked. I do realism it is a very religious day however there were two local meetings so why have meetings with stakes if the operators don't open. I called my bookie when the tote was closed and placed my PA with them on the open bet and from then have taken every tote bet with them and will not take another bet on the tote. I would rather take the deduction. The only time I back on the tote is when I am at the course.
