Ladies and gentlemen beware of Ilha Bela in the July. Thanks to Hibs i found the re-assurance as to Ilha Bela's chances in the July. Hibs has posted the July enteries for the other feature races on the day. Normally trainers hedge their bets and enter horses in more than one race on the day, in case they draw poorly in the July, well turn to plan B where they drawn better and may even have a better chance of winning. I've just looked at the nominees for the Garden Province and note Ilha Bela is not nominated, and that is a strong statement in my book, that kinda fighting talk, "who cares where we drawn in the Big One, we still fancy our chances of winning".
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Shrek ,we must be using the same book........lol I see the race exactly the same as you do!
Just to comment on to other discussion points:
I agree that Ilha Bela has no chance on form.....BUT...... Mrs Slack did not seem keen for her to go for the July.........I wonder what MdK has told her to let her run(if she does of course)
The oft used cliche "races are not run on paper" is very true of course ,but if you don't use the form, the only alternative is to guess........and I know which I prefer!

AT LAST!!! sanity prevails....
@Bayern the Garden Province is over 1600 meters, a trip which would be (like her price in the July) much to short.

For me it has always been Vettel but my backup is Chesalon.. Jooste being the biggest owner in the country has a live chance with Vettel imo. Only thing is I hope he accepts for the race. I see he is nomonated for the Golden Vase on the big day as well. Guess all will be revealed next Thursday.

Not sure what you guys are smoking to think Vettel can beat Jackson? Even if he gets a run Mike said on tv Jackson could have won by 8 - how can Vettel be in this class - come on get real

Mac, on the lighter side, your post sounds like a plea for help, rather than anything of substance. Yes you are correct in that horses win races, and on the 7th July, that horse will be Ilha Bela. I think what's confounding the professional and knowledgable punters, on every shred of evidence available IB cannot win the race, so why all the betting pressure? In you guys minds, this defies logic and is simply ludicrous, right? My un-educated guess, she could be making good improvement back home.
Titch, 1600m may be the bottom of IB's range, a fully fit IB would run both Ebony Flyer and Princess Victoria very close and it would take a brave man to bet against that.

Agree with Pirates on Ebony Flyer and the Princess... Remember Barry rates ebony as the best he has owned in South Africa...

I'm a real brave man and I'd back agasinst her to beat either Ebony or the Princess - she has had enough chances to prove that she's the best three-year-old distance filly - she would get such a smack in the GP - She was beaten by Go Indigo who has battled in open company - I don't care how much money comes for her the form book is the place to start from and in that book she is not a contender.

Re: Re: July Weights

ilha belha lol.u must be joking.has no chance in july and absolutely no chance in garden province against ebony flyer and princess victoria.the latter 2 are pure champions and hv the g province at there mercy.its no secret and the form is there for all 2see.imo any punter who backs ib in july to even run a place doesnt like money and likes to feed the bookies.take all your doubles onto jackson for july and you hv a great chance of collecting on july day.im sure bayern is just pulling eveyones leg abt ilha belha because a blind man can see it has no chance of even runnining in 1st 6 in july.if it does then they must take urine samples and test for every drug available.lol.
