Not fearing all the abuse I will get one jot... make sure you go for a racing weekend in Durban only Dave and then get the hell outa there pdq!!!
PE would suit you much better... the Shams are there and it rains a lot so you'll feel right at home!
Bad news is that it is now raining in MB, the good news is that its not even hard enough for me to have to dry the large bald patch I live with
Titch... not really for this thread but if you are doing the Elvis thing or a PE racing trip (or want to combine the two!?), PM me (tu)

Englander,
Do you ever visit the Garden Route Casino?
I did the capex and pre opening there, as well as stayed on for about a year after it had opened. I love everything about Mossel Bay.

Enjoy it Dave, great seafood down the Algarve if I remember right (tu)
Tommy... I stay clear of casinos, I'm a mug punter and casinos would be very bad news for me!! Even those stupid slot machines took a fortune off me until I came to my senses. I'm very fortunate that my partner's parents have a holiday home about 10 mins drive from MB... sea, sand, sand-bank, road, house... fab! (tu)

PE's "Disaster Management Services" issued a warning this
week about a perfect storm that was lurking to the south of the
continent. If the westerly wind changes to a south-Easter, there
could be a lot of rain. Just been woken up by the first downpour
at 3:30 AM.
3. Heavy Rain (100%) is expected as from Thursday evening in Storms River area to reach Port Elizabeth by Friday Noon and spread further east as it progresses. An average of 100mm is expected from Friday Noon to Saturday evening throughout the region of Cacadu. Due to the already saturated groundwater flash flooding is expected in low laying areas.
Reason for this early warning from the SA National Weather Services the similarity between the 2 HIGH pressure systems south of the country and a developing LOW pressure system over the far Northern-Western interior which is very similar to the systems of the 1968 floods in Port Elizabeth and Surrounding areas.
