after 8 games out of 38 its a bit early for this thread..this time last year arsenal were near the bottom 3 and they ended up third..lots of football left..the pathetic spending on crap like downing, henderson, adam etc and the bad management of the carroll transfer by dalglish have prob put the owners off spending big again..but rodgers is a top man and has got lfc going the right way again.so yes lfc are rebuilding like they have been the last 6 years as u say but now its happening the right way...after all lfc isnt a russian whore house, cant spend 100mil a year on players when things dont go to plan(sorry titch lol)

As yet another person has mentioned this 6 years rebuilding business, I feel compelled to ask the question... why can't people see reality and look at Liverpool's Premier League record and tell me what is so different from 20 years ago to 6 years ago to current day? In the last three seasons of the old Division One Liverpool finished 1st, 2nd, 6th. I am not being bias but I truly believe that this 4-6 year stuff is utter nonsense, I don't think United (or others) have ever considered Liverpool serious challengers in any year of the Premier League's existence. Even when they came runners-up I don't think any neutral thought they would finish as Champions. Unless satisfaction is to be had finishing 3rd to 8th every year, this is not about rebuilding, this is hoping for a resurrection of times from a quarter of a century ago. Rodgers may achieve it, who knows, but pleeeeeeeeeese stop thinking Liverpool were a force in the Premiership to be reckoned with 4-6 years ago, they absolutely were not.

You are quite correct GB, I have a strong disliking of whiskey, vodka would have sufficed nicely but I am not adverse to necking a bottle or two (or more!) of Savanna Dry or Hunters Dry
<
DTF, I strongly believe it is not good for football as one day they will not be there and what will be left... ashes to ashes... but I also believe you are correct. 99% of teams would take in such a benefactor, madness not to.
DTF, you are also correct, as you know, that I do indeed have a hatred of Liverpool, I have never made any attempt to disguise the fact. BUT, my argument is about football and hatred does not come into it, their record speaks for itself and (just talking, no offence meant towards anyone) I just think anyone who talks about Liverpool returning to the greatness of 4-6 years ago needs their head examined... they were not a great team 4-6 years ago, not even close to it and they did not even look like becoming one. 25 years ago they were a great team. I am obviously pleased that the numbers wanting to join my idiots revolution seems to be increasing by the day but this lack of living in reality doesn't make for a decent football chat

lol till he dies or gets bored..i support lfc cause they a great club, not a great team..in history of hundreds of years the present means little..there will be times when they were the best, then battle to compete for anything, then be the best again etc as the wheel turns over the next 40 years..look at the league challengers 30 years ago and lookat it now.imagine it in 30 years time, will be completely different im sure.but LFC will always be up there somewhere giving me some excitement! going to watch the spurs game march 9th..cant wait

Re: Re: What`s Arsenal and Liverpools excuse this year?

At least Liverpool gambled and spent big cash to try and close that gap on the top three spending sides. They failed badly and will now spent the next
few years digging themselves out of a big hole. Arsenal have no excuses. They seem to have everything available to them, including a long term manager, to close the gap, but have gradually fallen behind.
