Mike, although I was pretty much neutral, I confess I marginally favoured Chelsea. However, in all honesty, although the achievement is in the record books and no doubt looks impressive there, the answer is no, there was nothing about their success that I would call sensational. They were extremely fortunate imho but I do acknowledge that you ride your luck and hope to come out the other side on top and they did. Well done to them. All I am saying is that I hope United don't resort to such "tactics". Barcelona, in completely outplaying and beating United 3-1 in the 2011 Final... now that was a night a neutral could definitely say they watched something sensational!
Well done to Chelsea for dumping the Yorkshire ***** out last night.
Dave... 5-4 in the Mickey Mouse is not going to wind me up especially as we had just comfortably beaten you in the Premiership despite the refs attempts to keep it a close contest
CnC... Just so I know... Are you actually Italian? Were you born there? How long did you live there and where? And come to think of it... were you born in Russia Dave? lmao

I'm sure if United had the chance to play the 2011 final again they would do it the Chelsea way

Unlikely but who knows Dave. As I say, I would very much hope not. And I don't think any team could have lived against Barca that night, whatever system they played. On the night they were just tooooo good. Best football I can remember ever watching. They completely destroyed the second best team in Europe. The first Final with them we never turned up, the second Final we needn't have bothered turning up!
Vodka is also my only "short" drink. But, definitely no Russian blood in me... I've been watching quite a few lately drinking it like water!

You have to stick to something you know a bit about..ie cricket.
To say when Chelsea were down to 10 men for 60 minutes, losing 2-0 away to the mighty Barcelona and
scoring a wonder goal by Ramires, then scoring another wasnt sensational, shows your lack of football knowledge.
I thought when you won the Champions League in 1999 that was sensational,to win after getting hammered for most
of the game and to get all the luck in that match and turn it around at the end showed Man Us never give up attitude.
I remember watching that game with some man u pals and wanting you to win, glad you did in fact.
When you talk about tactics, you show your lack of football knowledge. There's more than one way to skin a cat.
Thats why your team gets beaten by Barcelona and Real Madrid all the time. You try to match them and fall short.

Dave, LMAO!!!! Since when has expressing a wish been a demonstration of knowledge? It is a hope, no more no less. It has nowt to do with knowledge or understanding of different ways to skin a cat etc, it has to do with the way I like to see my team play. I have always been the same. And again, "since when" has saying something was not sensational meant someone has a lack of knowledge on a particular subject? And I didn't really talk tactics Dave, just enjoyment in watching games. Very different things. So why you harp on about my tactical knowledge etc I have no clue, nor can you have a clue about them lol
The last three minutes of the 99 Champions League Final were sensational, the match itself was not. Bayern did indeed dominate throughout and were very unlucky. We were also lucky John Terry slipped. No debate. We were completely outplayed in the second Final with Barca. If you think Chelsea would have beaten them that night whatever tactics were adopted I'd say you would most likely be incorrect. They were simply that good. But who knows, everything changes of course and all teams are beatable.
Chelsea won through in their semi against Barca. As I said earlier, well done. Was that down to tactics, or sheer fortune... I side strongly with the latter and a little of the former. Would they have lost with different tactics, most probably. I watched it and at no point did I find it sensational... extremely lucky, yes. That said, I can see an argument why some would, especially if you are a Chelsea supporter. Was the Final, for a neutral, utterly and completely boring... me and most I have talked to answer with a big yes. Do you give a sh1t? No. Should you? No. If you and Mike think it was sensational that is your opinion, its not mine. That simple.
