the fact that the horse came back for more when looking gone suggests that if he left it to run on from off them it would have been closer

You know greg, the only time a horse runs well in SA after traveling wide is when it has a very green appy on top. He doesn't know what to do so he sits dead still going three or four wide........So the horse still manages to run on.
Put a pro on top and he tries to settle him in, tries to go wide and get handy, tries to fit into a gap and gets bowled.....the horse never runs anywhere.
Lesson to be learned there methinks.
In Tribute ran a great race after being ridden in that manner! One to watch!

mike bass pre -- race comments
Mike's Runners : Night Trip
Race Number : 4
Time : 14:20
Comments | Interviews : He is still a big baby and needs a little more time to grow into himself, but he is a very nice type and should finish in the money at the weights
Mike's Runners : Captain Siderius
Race Number : 7
Time : 16:15
Comments | Interviews : He is working well and stays well. He is drawn well and could finish in the money.
Mike's Runners : Bordered in Grey
Race Number : 8
Time : 16:50
Comments | Interviews : He has been consistent of late. He takes on a fairly competitive field, but is drawn well. He should be in the money again here.
Hope this helps you guys(tu)

The best horse doesn't always win the race.
