Really it sounds bad that Ruby Clipper is being harassed by people for " good things " and we must empathise because it can be frustrating to be pestered for no reward.
Reminds me of once upon a long time ago at the parade ring in Clairwood Park Racecourse and the legend Syd Laird had a runner which I think was Outspan which raced for Mr.G.M.Carruthers.
Anyway, Mr.Laird was being continuosly shouted at by a punter, lots of noisy uncouths around those days, for a tip. The great man Mr.Laird affectionately known as " The Bear" eventually went across to the rail at the stands in the parade ring and handed the punter a coin. The horse Outspan duly won the race!!!

And that is the reason I don't punt. And every punter that actually thinks they will win is a fool.
Why the hell must I punt in the dark, when others have the 'info'?
At least if I go to the casino I admit I am gambling, and under no illusion.
If i sports bet at least I know of the top condition of the athletes and their careers and income being subject to their performance.
What do I get at a racecourse? Inside info, crooked jockeys, shakey grooms and gangsters.
Hell no!!
Give me honest horsemen, equine athletes, well governed sport and honesty. It does not exist largely.

ohkay this is my take on the matter @ruby you dont have to reply but if every punter has the same attitude as you have that "i am getting nothing in return out " then horseracing wouldn't be as successful as it is today imagine if punters refuse to bet for a month imagine the loss that phumelela and all the trainers make....................at the end of the day the most important people the "punters" are hardly ever treated with respect as they are the clients or customers so to speak and i feel that there's nothing wrong with punters asking you about if your horse's are fit for the race.............be nice:D
The best horse doesn't always win the race.

Ask...she asks a simple thing...If you want info on the Alexander runners than follow them on twitter...they give more than useful info on there and more often than not they are SPOT ON with their assessments!!!!!!!So just check it there...easy...simple...case closed....atleast they DO give comments on their runners...trainers like them, the Shams,Mr Gordon,Mr Eudey does really much MUCH MORE than our average joe understands....so lets be grateful and say thanks....and FFS...stop hassling!!!!Cheers.

As a punter, I am not looking for "tips", but information on the horses well being. Case in point would be MDK's post this week on his website. He gave a honest view of his stable's runners, and its left to us how we use the info. And there are a few other trainers like that (GVZ, Craig Eudley, Anthony, to name a few).
Why should you do it, Ruby? Well, for me its this: The more "good" you do to others, the more "good" will be done to you (and your family).
Maybe that's why the trainers mentioned above are so blessed (sons included).
Lastly. Regarding Ruby's tirade about people worrying him/her for tips and "what's in it for him/her?" Imagine the same response to people begging at street corners. Hilarious to most sane people. Either give a handout, or just ignore. The choice is yours.
Or, do you get out of your vehicle and.....

Where money is involved there will be crooks around.
Work out how many variables you have in horse racing....you better get all the 'tips you can. Cause I know for a fact the right info is deadly
