Why do you post your tips, what do you get out of it?

This is a question to the regular posters on the daily threads we have for race meetings. What are you getting out of it? Surely by letting us know your selections, you will get a worse price for them should we back them before you do? Or do you back them first and then post?

Mine never win so I always manage to get a better price once I fancy them they automatically drift...

We are not a punting stable if you want to put it that way. Only one owner really likes to have a good bet. It costs me nothing to share what I know and honestly say what I think. I would stop if I was honest in my assessment and it went/was wrong and someone had a go at me.

what happens when you meet some one and you are happy, cheerful and polite? then what happen when you meet some one and are unfriendly? some time i feel people like to post what they like and then take the well done after. nothing is wrong with that! me i dont post what i punt be cause to me it is bad luck but that is me with my superstitons. i enjoy to see the guys make some money but i learn long ago the horse every one talk about carry about 30kg more on hes back and jockey become the ediot. take the 1st timer in r3 yesterday who run second is perfect example

If you just look at the horses that are claimed and what % win I think most punters would be shocked. Probably around 10/15% win.

Craig, thanks for all your input, I think you and the Shams are tops(tu). For hobbyists like myself its always fascinating to see what trainers think. I think if there were more trainers like you guys it would benefit the game we all love to much.

For me the answer is easy and I hope more people will think in this manner, I know and understand that it costs money to keep horses but if you are in the game surely you are off means and not doing it to become richer it is the sport and for me to find the outsider that makes this game interesting. Why have all the riches if we can have 10 people sharing. How many times have I backed a complete outsider and when it wins the person that had a ton on the favourite accused me of jinxing him.If i like and post something it does not mean you must back it just start asking yourself why is he looking at it let me look further.

In the good old days when racing was a social sport, punters would meet at the track or rooms and discuss fancies and tips all day long.
