Read this on Summerhill blog but was too busy all day and missed all the proceedings today ;:(

" At her best we'd have to think IGUGU would have had the measure of them all but we've only now discovered the reason behind her early lack of form. She suffered a fractured splint bone while she was in England, which set her back more than a month at a crucial time, hence the fact that The Apache, who was nowhere near her measure in S.A. has shown superior form in Dubai and is not without a chance on Saturday. "8-)

Was that what the problem was? Is that the real answer ... everyone thought it was her hormones that were out of hand that made her so disappointing. Because for sure it was not the Igugu we've come to know here in SA, that showed up at Meydan.

What I still don't get is why her first run at Meydan was so impressive, and the two that followed were like a car driving with the handbrake on, much revving but not much progress. Presumably they knew in England already that Igugu had damaged her leg. Why not tell us so?

Mavs, thats because they speak with half truths. The hormone story was dodgy too. Cant the experts tell if their fillies/mares are in season? Surely its routine maintenance to do so. You know. And wouldn't a fractured splint bone be very very serious and painful?

I'm not sure why you thought Igugu's first run was impressive. Her omenous future was written then I blogged. Anyway....

The most popular horse among punters and we were not informed she had a fractured splint!ppl who backed her did their money in cold blood(not talking out of pocket as never backed her in dubai)
