Wouter, the point is that the Registered Trainer of the horse was there, not out of town..... do you see MDK assistants giving instructions when he is in the parade ring? Is Basil the registered assistant to Adam?

I know people who have horses with Adam and they all say what a top class kid he is.... Dont forget when he took his dads horses to Durban a few years ago how well he did.

Adam ran the yard in Durban on his own a few years back and did an outstanding job, having the expertise of a man like Basil and not using it would be ridiculous and there is no doubt that wanting his son to succeed and adding value to the stable where and when he can is something that Basil will continue to do, if I was an owner in the yard I would be overjoyed at the added input, remember the name Adam Marcus he will no doubt carry the flag of the Marcus dynasty with distinction, a very mature head on young shoulders...

So you categorically heard word for word what Basil said.....with his wealth of experience all over the world he can say what he wants to in the ring.Adam is still a young trainer and DOES train the horses, his father is adding value to the new yard.Come on ,stop being so negative and slating the individual.....ITS WRONG!

Ask yourself, if anton or strydom was helping in your yard with workouts/training programs / finetuning or whatever and he is also in the ring on raceday, then who will be the best to give jockey advice and instructions?
I will beg them again to come help if they offer such a service.

People struggle in all walks of life. He should seek help. Nobody is heartless in this situation. The fact is the horses were the ones most affected. That is what has gotten everybody involved. He should find another job.

Savasp...I assume you are referring to big JW Macdonald??? If so there is a different thread where clanners have posted and I do not believe its about kick someone when he's down...JW made a really bad call with the horses in his care. You cannot possibly try and defend that....
