An East Coast Radio presenter and avowed Man U fan said yesterday that the former Man U goalkeeper Martin Bailey was happy with the new manager. That sums up the average SA Red for you!

Hey i watched an old game involving Bailey yesterday,looked a superstar one minute and a dud the next (

Yes, as I recall he was way down the list of keepers when arriving there but then after a succession of injuries to all of those above him he amazingly found himself in the FA Cup quarters and played a blinder and then another blinder in the semi.
He then looked like a schoolboy in the final chasing after balls wide of the goal and not getting there, although if I'm not mistaken that was probably the most exciting FA Cup final of all time with United 2-0 down with a few minutes to go and getting 2 goals only for Arsenal to score again as Bailey failed to catch a cross.
Those were the days when the FA Cup was the greatest sporting event on the planet as opposed to nowadays. I didn't even know it was on until I got bored of watching Kings-Highlanders and decided to see what was on channel 203.
