2year old vs older horses!!

Tonight is a nice race to look at again. Charles Laird has Salesman at 1/1 running against older horses over 1600 meters. I will probably have egg on my face but I will be looking to beat this one and Kotzen seems confident about the chances of Klondike Creek so have taken so of the 16/1 EW available. (tu)

Gman. This is my understanding - each case/race literally has to be judged on its Merits. Its a form calculation. Is the 2 year old that much better in ability to overcome the reduced WFA allowance?
Take tonights example: Salesman (2yold) Should get 9.5 kgs from a 3yold and 11kgs from older horses. He is getting 4kgs as it is a plate race and those are the conditions.. So given their respective MRs do the connections think that his ability (read Merit rating) is superior by 5.5kgs of the highest MR 3yold and 7kgs of the highest rated older horse. If you do- this 2 year old can win, if you don't =brass him. I think in a handicap the 2 year old gets his full WFA allowance, so the question then is simply has the handicapper got his MR right?

Taban do you remember a horse that was bred, Home Guard - Nabat...heres a clue he won 17 races

But for me tonights 2yr olds in durban i dont even see them my best bets is Rainier and Eminence day BANKERS X(in everything first 2 legs of the pick six all the focus will be on the 2yr not for me!!!!!!!
