point taken, just in my opinion he had to ease for a few strides then pursued the ride in vain - that was his comment to me at the end of the day as well... appreciate your points of view, just think it was a bit of harsh criticism...

Ive just got involved in ABC - loving the vibe....

the secret is to remember the good rides(still hanker after lloyds ride aboard Main Man- made me a bundle back then) and forget the bad or you'll never find a jock to use

I wonder how many of those who replied bothered to watch the replays of the race.
Shea got a free run to and on the rail within the 1st 300m of the race, sat there all the way into the straight, MOVED OFF THE RAIL, the rail run then taken up by another horse (yes there was a clear run on the rail) tried to take the narrowest of gaps between the two front runners whose jocks were not in a generous mood, subsequently baulked and was then FORCED TO SWITCH OUT. yes credit to him for doing the latter, but it should not have been neccesary had he stuck to the rail having a clear run there and not getting himself into kak in the 1st place.
The class of sun classique saved the day ( Shea's own admission )

On that note....GET IN THERE CHELSEA...heres hoping that they give you a hiding. Now dont go and remind me that you beat Arsenal 5-1...it took Spurs 9 years to beat us.

whilst you have a lot to say about mr shea WINNING on the Classique, you always deefend the master of losing on favourites Mr Nesius. His ride in the feature today was diabolical, another Nesius disaster.

I was at the course to see Sun Classique win, i thought mike de kock was going to kill kinane when they came back to the ring,as SC was so badly hampered ON PURPOSE!BDB ,I ASSURE U IT WAS A LOT WORSE THAN U MADE IT OUT TO BE....Kinane definately and intentionally switched in for a run so as not to let SC get her run...in SA he would have received a very long holiday for that! But class prevailed.....after that run she was being touted as one of the top fillies in the world.

Dont shift the focus....This is not a Niesius thread.
All i'm saying is that Sun classique had greater impact on the the result than the jock and that the positive superlatives used to describe Shea's ride are misplaced if the ENTIRE race is watched OBJECTIVELY!

Everybody has a bad day i.e MJ Byleveld. The late Hansie hit some 4's that should have been a six ( Match Fixing ? )

I backed this horse on her last two runs in Dubai.I must add that i was very nervous after the start of both those races. This filly raced from off the pace in SA ,not handy like recent runs.Signifance of latest incident proves what Sun is capable of.
Most jocks would have settled for defeat after being squeezed at that crucial stage.
