If the first three very short favourites win the first three on the card namely Animal Kingdom, Shea Shea and Dawn Approach then the bookies will be running for coverX(

Queen Anne Stakes...
The favourite for this year's contest is Animal Kingdom, who will be one of the shortest price favourites of the meeting, currently priced at evens with William Hill, although bigger prices are likely to be available this morning, as the layers try to get their meeting off to a flyer.

Graham Motion's five-year-old can lay claim to being one of the best horses on the planet, as well as one of the most versatile. He won the Kentucky Derby on dirt as a three-year-old, before claiming the Dubai World Cup on Tapeta earlier this year. He ran a great race in the Breeders Cup last year, suffering a luckless passage in the Breeders Cup Mile on turf, but finishing strongly to claim second behind Wise Dan.

Animal Kingdom clearly sets the standard here, and should win, but doesn't offer any value at current prices. Although he has run good races on turf before, he has not won at a high level, and the undulating track will be unlike anything he has faced. He has also been off the track since March, and has not generally been at his best when fresh. He is the one to beat, but there are enough doubts to oppose him at a short price.

The best way to oppose him looks to be with Paddy Power, who are offering a money back special if the favourite wins. The win part of each way bets will be refunded, while punters can still get the phenomenal value that Animal Kingdom creates in the place market.

Most likely to chase the favourite home is the John Gosden trained Elusive Kate, who can be backed at 7/1 with Paddy Power. Elusive Kate is the only other Group 1 winner in the field, and although that came against her own sex, she gets a handy 3lbs from the boys here. She ran exclusively in Group 1 company last year, and finished in the first three on each occasion, including against the boys in the QEII on Champions Day over course and distance.

Gosden was top trainer at Ascot last year, so she couldn't be in better hands, and she looks the most likely winner if the favourite underperforms. Even if Animal Kingdom wins, she looks a great bet with Paddy Power's concession.

Currently third favourite is the Aidan O'Brien trained Declaration of War, who can be backed at 8/1 with William Hill and Coral. He was backed as if defeat was out of the question last time out in the Lockinge, but was very disappointing, finishing in a distant fifth place. He is undoubtedly very talented, but he seems as if he needs further than a mile. The Breeders Cup Classic is likely to be a long term target, and he would be of considerable interest there.

Aljamaheer is next in the betting, priced at 14/1 with bet365. He ran a cracker in the Lockinge last time out, finishing third, but he will need to improve again to take this. He ran well in the Jersey Stakes at this meeting last year, and cannot have the ground fast enough. He has place claims, but there look to be others providing better value.

Another to have raced in Dubai over the winter is Trade Storm, who is a 14/1 shot with Paddy Power. He was very progressive last season and in Dubai, winning a Group 2 at Meydan, before finishing a close fourth in the Group 1 Duty Free, when he could have finished closer but for being short of room at a crucial stage. If he can translate that form to here, then he would have a leading chance, and although there are slight doubts over his fitness, he also looks to offer good each way value with the offer of Paddy Power.

The race is off at 2.30pm, and all races from Royal Ascot will be broadcast on Channel 4

King Stand Stakes
The favourite for the race is the Mike De Kock trained Shea Shea, who is very solid at the head of the market, and is currently priced at a general 9/4. Shea Shea looked a horse of considerable ability when winning the Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai, and if he can translate that ability to these shores then he should win.

However, there are reasons to believe that he won't be in the same blistering form as he was at Meydan. Firstly, he has not run since that Dubai win, and he was beaten on his Meydan debut, suggesting that he is not as his best after a break. Secondly, he is drawn far away from most of the likely pace horses, and it might be that this will prove telling. He looks the most likely winner, but is definitely worth opposing at a short price in a 19 runner race.

Next in the betting is the three-year-old Reckless Abandon, who is a top priced 5/1 with bet365. That firm are the only bookmaker to be offering four places on the race, which is a valuable concession, and it is even worth taking slightly reduced prices to gain the extra place.

That aside, Reckless Abandon has plenty in his favour. Three-year-olds have a good record in this race, from minimal representation, and Reckless Abandon went unbeaten in his juvenile season, winning two Group 1 contests. He surrendered his unbeaten record on his seasonal debut, but there are plenty of reasons for believing that that run can be significantly upgraded.

He finished third, despite carrying a Group 1 penalty and racing on what was almost certainly the slowest part of the track. He won his race on that side of the track, but was just seen off by two racing on the other side. He won at Royal Ascot last year, and he looks the most likely to put it up to the favourite.

Next in the betting is Swiss Spirit, who is a top-priced 9/1 with Paddy Power and BetVictor, and 8/1 with bet365. He was a desperately unlucky second in the Temple Stakes, just ahead of Reckless Abandon. He did race on the quicker part of the track, but should and would have won, had he not been squeezed out at the beginning.

Like Reckless Abandon, his draw looks good, and he is a lightly raced four-year-old, so should still have some improvement in him. He looks to have a good chance, but his price looks slightly skinny.

Sole Power will be carrying Irish hopes, and can be backed at 9/1 with bet365. He is a proper Group 1 sprinter, and ran a cracker in this last year, finishing third despite being drawn on the wrong side.

He didn't get nearly enough cover there, and needs to be delivered very late to be seen at his best. He is drawn with most of the obvious pace horses, and should be able to burst through late on. He has two and a half lengths to make up with the favourite, but the better draw, and potential for the race to be run more to suit gives him an excellent chance, and he looks a great each way bet with bet365.

Australian raiders have an excellent record in Ascot sprints, and their hopes in this rest with Shamexpress, who is a 10/1 chance with bet365. He has very good form from Australia, which would give him a good chance here, but he appears better over six furlongs, and this looks like a prep run for Saturday's Diamond Jubilee Stakes, over a more suitable trip.

Pearl Secret is an improving horse, and has been tipped up by the Racing Post's Tom Segal. As such, he has been backed into a best price of 11/1.
I'm on ew at 16/1

Of the outsiders, Heeraat looks the pick at a top price of 33/1 with Paddy Power. He was slightly under par last time, but is capable of hitting the frame here.

Top jockey.

Moore is favourite to claim the title again, and can be backed at a general 9/4. He will be riding for his main boss Sir Michael Stoute, with good rides on many including Estimate and Pavlosk, but will also pick up some choice second string rides for Aidan O'Brien, including Mars, Fountain of Youth and Sir John Hawkins all tomorrow. He will also pick up the choicest spare rides in handicaps, and will be tough to beat.

Next in the betting is Joseph O'Brien, who will have all the best rides for his father Aidan. In addition, he will pick up good rides in handicaps, such as that of Fury in the Royal Hunt Cup. He also has good outside rides like Spirit Quartz in tomorrow's King's Stand Stakes. He is priced at 3/1 with Stan James, and despite the fact that he has suprisingly only ridden one winner at Royal Ascot, he will surely add to that tally this week.

Champion jockey Richard Hughes will have all of his father-in-law Richard Hannon's choicest rides here, and will also pick up some great spare rides in handicaps. He obviously has leading claims, but could easily have made the wrong choice in some of the juvenile contests, which could destroy his chances. He looks short enough at a best price of 9/2 with Betfred.

William Buick came within one third place of winning top jockey last season, although his main boss John Gosden doesn't quite have the ammunition he had last season. Nevertheless, Buick will have the best of Gosden's, and, again, will pick up some lovely outside rides. He is priced at a general 12/1 which looks a shade of value.

Sentimental punters will side with Frankie Dettori, who is a big price at 50/1 with Stan James, but without the might of Godolphin, he doesn't look to have a great chance, and even at such a big price, he doesn't look value.

If you back Animal Kingdom with Betfred at starting price and it wins by more than 2 lengths they will double the starting price.
So if it wins by 2 or more at 11/10 you will get paid at 9/4.£200 max
