Trust the appie in the last, Ntuli, he is the stable jockey so must have a fair idea which is the better of the two
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Riaans Ratings Results!
Race 1
1 - 32 - 1st - 9/20 opened 6/10
3 - 30
9 - 26 - 4th
2 - 23 - 3rd
Expected odds-on winner!
Race 2
8 - 30
16 - 29 - 4th
20 - 28 - 3rd
6 - 26 - 1st - 5/1 opened 4/1
14 - 26 - 2nd
I'm genuinely surprised that 6 wasn't shorter in the betting considering a good last effort and a top jockey/trainer combo. It never ceases to amaze me!
Race 3
1 - 29 - 1st - 14/10 opened 5/2
4 - 26 - 3rd
2 - 24
10 - 23 - 2nd
Pretty much a form result.
Race 4
1 - 29 - 1st - 7/2 opened 5/2
3 - 28 - 3rd
6 - 28 - 2nd
10 - 26 - 4th
I cannot believe that the Ratings tipped this Quarted!!! I really thought that this might be one of the toughest on the card. But, there you have it, a respectable R1 267 from 4 selections!
Race 5
3 - 32 - 5/2 - 2nd
7 - 31 - 20/1 - 4th
1 - 29
5 - 27
8 - 27
Ratings flopped with the winner rated the lowest in the field at 18. I should have been more nervous about this race than the 4th, but that's how it goes sometimes! 49/1 says it all!
Race 6
9 - 36
4 - 34 - 3rd
1 - 33 - 1st - 9/2 opened 4/1
3 - 32
Expected more from the other 2, especially 3.
Race 7
7 - 29
9 - 29
4 - 27 - 1st - 7/2 opened 4/1
3 - 26 - 4th
Would have enjoyed it if 3 won here.
Race 8
10 - 37
4 - 32 - 4th
9 - 32 - 2nd
1 - 31
7 - 31 - 3rd
This was the other tough one on the card. 8 out of 10 horses had a Rating of 30+.
Race 9
6 - 45
1 - 35 - 2nd
2 - 31 - 3rd
8 - 30 - 1st - 9/2 opened 9/1
I honestly did not expect a win from 6 and thought more of a chance went to Craig's horse. I didn't even fancy the winner either - Jockey and the fact that it won it's last. But, there you have it!
Race 10
5 - 34
11 - 34
12 - 34 - 3rd
8 - 33
The eventual winner 6 was next in the Rating at 32. The rest of the selection bar 12 - pretty kak by my standards!
Overview: As I mentioned this morning - go wide!!! From a Ratings point of view, you would have had to play the field in race 5 and 8 if you took a chance on the JP and P6. But the card did look troublesome with plenty high Ratings and not much points difference between them - always a sign of trouble ahead. Otherwise there were 7 winners from the selections and plenty of places to boot. If truth be told and I had played today I would have fallen out of the JP and P6 in race 5. I would not have left out De Kock/Delpech in the 8th with a 2nd highest Merit Rating of 97. Certain criteria the Ratings can't tell you. That's where your own racing savvy comes into it, you simply have to know your way around the variables! By the look of the payouts, it seems the punters took a hammering today, but bear up guys, there's plenty more winning to come! Eyes on some big fields tomorrow at Kenilworth!!! It already sends shivers up my spine!!!
