It cannot be a coincidence that Jooste's best two horses were ridden mainly by other jocks in their 1st few races...VC was fortunate that Marcus never rode him in his 1st 8 runs and BRM was ridden only once by him in her 1st 5 starts...most of those other very expensive types that he rode in their 1st, 2nd,3rd starts have never trained on. These are facts that cannot be disputed or maybe it's just a coincidence.

More inclined to side with FC as his thinking sounds sensible.
But my best ever bet was with Anton whilst Pierre isn't easy to follow.
BFH - home Jerome if its the right one.
so if I had a jockey riding for my life it would without doubt be BFH.

Hibs who are you reffering to...if its me then tell me where I have been libel...AM record speaks for itself but if Striker was riding for Jooste he would have more G1 runners!!!

Anton world class...maybe have another look at his Duty Free win on Jay Peg.....absolutely brilliant....

As always there's three sides to every story - imo mr Marcus not afraid to use the whip - is this wrong? Now I have never been 'horse-whipped' but I have been under the impression that the whips nowadays make much more noise than actually hurting the horses.

On the other hand I take FC's point of young horses being 'set up' to win first time out - but do they win (and then 'fail to train on') because the jockey has been using the whip to extract the maximum effort - or do they win (and then 'fail to train' on) because they have been 'over-extended' on the training tracks and god-forbid received a little extra 'nutrition'.

Almost impossible to know the truth, unless one is 'on the in-side' :S

where are these champs that did not train on - please post a list of them(remember an expensive horse does not equal a champion) - and where are all the whip abuse charges against Anton (I forgot he rides for Jooste so he gets away with it)
