my point being..that...if u use the argument that stables could manipulate which horse they want to win in a p6 scenario....then u have to be just as wary to back a horse straight up,if its a coupling....because whats stopping stables from backing the "other one"..and yet according to form,...it has no chance....remember the MILLARD days...when SUTHERLAND beat COETZEE in many a race with the other one.....was that blatant graft..or..good racing

Small punters should rather stick to Soccer 10 and Soccer 13 as there are fewer variables than including all of Smith, Greef and Erasmus couplings and finding out your perm for R 2O-- is not even O--OO1 % and not viable.
Or stick to the Jackpot and PA.
Or stick to the Jackpot and PA.

Those races were generally features and ALL runners aiming for stakes..............I would certainly concur with couplings not applying to feature races(above a certain stake)..............as Loopy would say.......... ...the intent could reasonably be perceived to be a given!
Not quite the same as a lowly MR handicap where a third of the field is often made up of 2 or 3 yards.
The bigger punter will develop a strategy but the smaller punter will have to hope he gets the intent right (as Loopy would say) !

Take tomorrow's Fairview card as an example. If you throw in all the couplings in the P6 under current rules then it's a total of 29 horses over the six legs but you have 67 runners going to the start.
Now with the new rule you need to decide how to exclude any of the 67 coupled horses without falling out of any of the legs.:

Just worked through PE card of Friday and of the 20 couplings i will include in my Pick 6 over the 6 legs I like 15 out of 20 the "unfancied coupling" more than the fancied one in the betting , the new no-coupling rule will be REALLY GOOD FOR SOME OF US IN Pick 6 from September
my Jackpot for Friday already taken
Jackpot R2058 FAIRVIEW
Leg 1 : Race 5 [2, 4, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14]
Leg 2 : Race 6 [1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12]
Leg 3 : Race 7 [1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 10, 12]
Leg 4 : Race 8 [3, 6, 9, 10, 11, 14]

I agree with Umlilo...it's not a question of "if it's crooked", it has too large a risk of being crooked...the cost of policing outweighs the reward...IMO.
What I feel that we must understand...is that the rules must be such, that they stand no matter what argument is used. We are changing rules that were introduced after many years of deliberations and hopefully made by intelligent people after logical assessments...because we want a bigger payout...exactly what the manipulators want too....and that's my opinion...

It is a way of forcing us to punt with the tote. If the payoutds are gonna be so HUGE, punters will not want to be limited by Bookies who are capped
