I gather the course is too wet and racing will be abandoned. We always said that we would only race at Scottsville today but the casino had organised 4 weddings on the non raceday so that was out!

Brilliant day today ( Saturday) in PMB.

Looking at Accuweather, rain is expected late today , most the day tomorrow and the next few days.
I will not get too excited right now.

Please be advised that following a track inspection by Stipes, Gold Circle Reps and gallops by jocks A Marcus and N Patel the race meeting at Clairwood has been abandoned.

Four weddings at Scottsville and a funeral at Clairwood !

TOTALLY 2nd that WE... I remember last year the guys all complaing about 2 meetings in Kenilworth abandoned....LOL.. seems that we will never be racing in KZN/JHB again with all the interruptions... atleast CT is a GLORIUS summers day!

Are u racing today......if so let me know where and we will catch up......

Many extremely unhappy trainers around! All we needed was the jockey room,course, parade ring and saddling enclosure and they could have raced but weddings organised by the Casino(one in the parade ring) have stopped that! As one official said that " now they will have to change the rulings to make racing come first on every occasion".

It's a bloody racetrack,not a church

Please note that it is NOT the casino's fault.

When the racing calender is finalized for the year, the facilties are used for various other reasons for the days that no racing is scheduled . Those that spring to mind are fundraising events, Hospice dance, Matric dances, live shows local and international and ofcourse, weddings.

People book these venues months ahead. A way forward is to make sure that not all venues at Scottsville, at least one is available all the time. I think the main issue today is the wedding that is taking place in the parade ring.
