all of that makes perfect sense. ..but I would not back a Charles Roberts horse if it was the only horse in the race

note Tamtan now ridden by Andrews so now not such a good proposition anymore..

Just a technical point.
In the 3rd Race at F/view just before the start when the horses were waiting for loading ,the jockey for No 16 Gold Park,the eventual winner,(Van Niekerk) was leaning against the rails and had given one of the handlers the horse to walk round in circles!
I wouldn't have thought ,on the grounds of having control of the horse ,that this would be allowed.
It just seem strange to me.

interesting,i don`t see the harm tbh,when horses get loose etc,they are definately not in control of the horse
they also can be loaded without a jock

I seen that from the top of the straight. Dumpy needs to get himself sorted out. Just imagine you as an owner only heard the race on the phone.
