Bad Luck When Gambling Does It Happen?

Bayern, I believe in luck. If it were not for luck then there would be 2 less trainers in Natal. Luckily I woke up and hit the steering wheel as we were 30m behind a huge truck doing 30kms an hr and we were doing 120. The driver had fallen asleep and I was already asleep in the passenger seat but luckily woke up just at that time. Did a 540 degree spin and ended up in the inside yellow lane. If I had not woken up we were certainly both dead. I don't know what woke me up. Luck was on my side.

There is luck in everything. In all that we do there is a percentage chance mixed in. My understanding of luck is best explained by contemplating the perfect long kick for touch, at the end it's still an oblong ball whose bounce will be determined by chaos..break a leg.

I sometimes HAVE NO luck

Pleased to hear your situation had a happy ending. You have answered axactly what i am saying,in that, you created your own luck by waking up and averting what could have had a tragic ending. The point I'm trying to make, it's what you did.

If I had posted that in the morning, that horse would probably not settle in the race and probably finish closer to last.

Bayern it was very lucky I woke up as we had been celebrating a couple of winners! Very unusual to wake up and why just then? Still cannot work it out.:S

Our subconscious state is far more in tune with what is going on than our conscious state...

I think TNaicker has hit the nail on the head. Why you woke at that particular moment, maybe the vehicle swerved a little when the driver dosed off or went over a cat's eye, who knows. Luck or bad luck is what we perceive when looking for answers to fortunate or adverse events.
