Turffontein Racecourse - One Massive Rip-off !

I was on the deck and it was really enjoyable - Mates were in Kelvin's Bar and enjoyed it - I parked in the public parking and had to walk a bit to the entrance - Left at 22h30 and my car was one of only three left in the parking area and was safe and sound. I did not really go down to ground level so I cannot answer to that. I will say that I punted in three areas and the tote service was fine -

If u worry about a coke at R15 how much are u punting per race?
Scott and William and Calvin and Clare give superb food
Trust me a bacon roll and a glass of bubbly cost more than any meal list at the big T if u are UK racing
Trust me guys we are spoilt when racing in SA and not from a box ( which I am sure we are also spoilt) its probably the price of a bottle of champagne at Ascot

Expect some flack but really guys try and take the blinkers off

we all expect value for money...if the soccer game is better value...then that is where we go...It's a Rush.... :dry:

I have to say my favourite horse racing memory is at Turfies. That says a lot for a huge KZN and Sharks fan to say anything in Gauteng is cool. About three years ago Dave and the ABC team invited Lucky Dictator and the missus to the Summer Cup. Missus was very pregnant and I was trying to be the responsible father to be.We decided to make the trip anyway from the South Coast and it was all worth it. To get to meet Dave, Frodo, Shrek, Sylvester and other forum members was an absolute blast. I cannot remember which horse won what, but I do remember the comradeship among us horse players and Dave's and his missus's hospitality. Thanks once again guys.
