exactly

you couldnt back the horse imo thats why i really like the favourite in the race

drier has a line through a horse of his called the tripster who ran 1.25 off music app last time...do you think anyone is awake to this and could ask him?rather leave it and we follow the money blindly ;)

Englander, barrier trials will alleviate this problem to a sizeable degree.
The barrier trial must be run on a raceday, under raceday conditions. Horses with long lay-offs or new must have a trial or even two before qualifying to race in races where there is betting. Horses may still not be fit, but that is beside the point. The barrier trial result, time, etc must be published in the same way as a race result, in Computaform, on all other data systems for public dissemination (as is done in AUS, HK etc).

This way the punter has basic info and can make a semi-informed judgement. If the horse does amazing performance in its race after a barrier (for price setting, as happens with first timers and their shifting odds), the Jockey Club can query its sudden improvement and follow regular procedure if it is suspicious behaviour.

Your idea for interviews with trainers is plausible but not always practical as a lot of trainers cannot tell themselves how a horse will perform in racing conditions first time out. Barrier trials will also help them to form better judgement.

I must say that after yesterday's Vaal meeting i don't think ANY amount of information will EVER make us punters happy. Its not an easy post this BUT its the truth. Horses make a mockery of all of us, so no matter what we divulge to the public things will happen that make us chuckle...

these were my best yesterday @ 09h58 am.......when i spoke to Louis and he said they were going to try and change it to the turf course i spent the next 45 minutes criticising UK bookmakers demanding a refund....they refused the refund and the bets stood....

needless to say .....

I WON....yes i won, the horses that i (and many) thought would romp home in the sand won, on a different surface, from a different draw and in some cases a different distance

Samogan @ 7/2
General Misty @ 11/10
Crystal's Revenge @ 10/3
She's A Tiger @ 11/8
Kapitan @ 33/10
Angel Gabriel @ 9/2

Easy, come back when your good enough, 5/6 plus two scratchings, all posted on the daily thread in the morning before racing rather than the next day ;) I am humble enough to admit that if the bets had been cancelled I would have changed some of the horses and lost. I am arrogant enough to say if they had raced on the sand I would have had 8/8 and you would have had a few losers! lmao Tis only a bit of fun before you think about replying! :)

Don, tis Christmas Eve, I shall think on your post... :)

Thanks. We wait...

I would be quite happy to do that, Louis. Then we have a level playing field where I still expect a number of people ARMED WITH ALL OF THE RELEVANT INFORMATION to believe they can beat me!

That's what creates a proper market.
