Durbs .. exactly
Delpech had a wide draw as well and elected to ride his mount without going to the inside.

10 years 3 months agoI watched the replay of the race 4 times and delpech raced three or four wide the whole way and was tracking Randolph who he made the horse to beat and he went past Randolph without to much fuss ..Randolph did absolutely nothing wrongagra wrote:durbs wrote: Not sure about a perfect ride there bob.Three wide the whole race came into the straight on the outside shifted to the inside lost 2nd(for my bi-pot) by three quarters or so of a length.A perfect ride would of been finding a better position in the race maybe one off the rail and he would have saved a lot of ground and had a bit of petrol left so no not the perfect ride

Pirates racing in that position three wide what else could he do wrong? If he managed to find a better position in the running then delpech could not follow him and delpech would have been three wide and randolph maybe one off the rail and the horse would have a little more in the tank. Not saying that randolphs horse was better or anything but three wide is not the position to be in.Delpech might still have won but randolph could have come second.
