We all know how changeable 2 yr old form (and improvement) is at this time of the year but I wouldn't make Shap Shap my first choice, even if the fav was scratched

Preparing for egg.............lol

A much esteemed (??? lol) fellow clanner mentioned SS to me yesterday as there was possibly a word out on it. I said little to no chance on what I could see. If it wins, something has been "hidden" imho, no need for egg Rob, you just simply couldn't know.

I don't like SHAP SHAP but FORMGRIDS points to this horse - 3 immediate winners from debut with another two in later runs including TAR HEEL who won the Somerset and also the EP Nursery winner. I like RED HOT POKER as I think this horse will only get better over a trip

I saw that too..................always a dilemma when different analysis is contradictory!!!!
On a "rating" basis I have a few ahead ,but always a problem with improvers B)
No result ,other than one of the maidens, would completely surprise me!

even in defeat that was a super ride by Anton Marcus - he kept that horse going for ages and again showed the value of being positive in a race

agreed and an unusually poor one from Delpech...........the horse had to start all over after been pulled up and switched out ...........not a great choice as it turned out!

.............nice to sometimes get things right .........brassed SS and got a few Trif and Quartets.............exotics paid for at least! :P

With Marcus you will always get a run for your money. On the other hand delpech is good but inconsistent in the effort he puts in.

I agree- always believed that with the "better" jocks should be rated on how few poor rides rather than on how many good rides- "good" rides are often flattered by good horses but poor rides cost good horses!

Too true what you said there Rob.No ways should almashooqa have lost that race and he ends up fourth even out the pa.Very poorly judged ride but i suppose we all allowed a few mistakes

When Persian Rug realizes she has 4 legs and a tail she might well be a serious racehorse
