Only got as close because the sham horse pulled up in front , his mount probably would have won if it settled . Infact the only hirse in the race that did settle was the winner , the 2nd fav was beat after 400m

It reminded me of one of those western films,when the Army guy gets hit with an arrow and falls forward on the horse and lays there half dead and the horse runs off into the distance.
