When Elvis and myself went down a couple of years to watch our beloved Asylum Seeker on July day, I think we were charged at R750 per head - also no alcohol included - so the price has more than doubled in 2 years?

Seriously, it's a shocker this, the whole July charging structure, I feel for the GC members that Sugahorse refers to that support the track and the sport all year round.

Yes, Chris it seems that greed is the winner here; one can probably make a case for supply and demand, but I would have thought that loyalty to customers should also come into it?

I wonder how much G.C is making out of July day from gate money & exhorbitant " package " prices at 1600 a pop.
Expected attendance 50,000 plus ... the profit has got to be in the millions !

Am I right in assuming that VODACOM picks up the main stakes bill for the day, & the rest is just profit for G.C. ?
