Try paying £70 to watch football at Arsenal, plus programme £5 plus getting there on the tube and and bite to eat and you are not only looking at close to a hundred but also a draw. Entrance fees to the track vary depending where one would like to be or at which track you visit. Best bet is to have an internet betting account and suscribe to the racing channels and only go the meetings that your horses are competing in or the big meets.

If there were facilities to encourage the public to come racing then charging entrance would not be an issue. Bingo and LPM machines are not a drawcard and can be accessed at various casinos. Why bother giving betting vouchers as the guys already spend their money on the tote to whom a R 30 entrance fee would be significant.
Provide entertainment, not betting opportunities, and you might draw people back to the racecourse. Charging them to gamble on products they can access elsewhere free of charge most certainly will not.
