The exchange model is dying!
IB is being propped up by a few layers only,BF is being propped up by syndicates.
IB did a deal with P,BF with Paddy Power.
The sportsbook has survived despite the doomsayers saying it was dead when the exchanges arrived.
Business has never been better for the SA bookmaker chains, and bookmakers licenses are worth big money after being almost worthless less than a decade ago.

Re: Re:interbet?
9 years 5 months agoreally?he is just like the rest of them he picks and chooses how much and who he lays to ..I know of a few punters who have had their limits cut to a 1000 rand of a horserob faux wrote:Deeno wrote:Dean321 wrote:Richie77 wrote: Dean - how much can you get on the early price though. I took a bet with a bookmaker that opens early and the horse was a big price. I couldn't get more than R500 on.
Howzit Richie
I have just recently registered with them and played a few small punts testing the system and exotics.
I will revert back to you about how much one can get on when I place any decent bets.
I was just chuffed that they open prices earlier than most. Not forgetting the customer service which seems to have stood out for me as well.
Most of the big boys I know of in JHB, swear by LM bookmakers. Big bets (10 and 20K) ... no problem. You just have to phone in... and pays with a smile.
Lance Michael represents the old fearless bookmaker/s in the old style ..................not easy to frighten him!

lm fearless? - another bs story spread by family and employees.
Limit went down, down, down - until I found my balance paid into my bank account and "account closed" when trying to login. They are only fearless when they can bet to 150%+

I have played with interbet for a while now and what I can say is that the odds are ALWAYS better on the exchange than what you can get anywhere else. As a punter you always have to punt where you get the best chance and give you the best possible chance of coming out on top.
It also seems that their customer service is pretty good and whenever I have requested a payout it always seems to come into my account in a matter of hours, whereas other sites take up to 5 days for withdrawals to reflect

IB is now neither an exchange, nor a sportsbook.
Exchange shows betting, but the races are closed, and the sportsbook has no betting.

The debate rages on. I have said this before and I will say it again. Find yourself an old school bookie that is well established. Go introduce yourself and discuss your needs. Support the guy even though on occasions you will be taking slightly less than what is available online. Establish limits both from a plus and a negative and dont fail to settle. Having a relationship with one firm has far more advantages than getting a slightly better price now and again. Modern day firms are not bookmakers they are accountants. They would rather close your account after one win than build a relationship. I am a customer of a certain bookmaker for 20 years plus. I never battle to get a bet.
