Regarding Biscay, seems the race time wasn't the fastest, has faded at the business end in every run over this distance bar that behind Raven. Even then wasn't exactly burning up the turf in the finish. had hoped for a stiffer test in terms of pace and suspected she might be able to stay on in the finish. Seems fair that one with a record at 1800/1900 would have had the speed to finish at this pace.....

Didn't catch the race, but I don't imagine they went at a blistering gallop, as I had hoped. In hindsight, there really wasn't a runner in the race capable of setting the required pace.

Nothing to comment on Aussies Captain - ran 13 days ago, finished nicely and only had to reproduce his run to Sardine Run to win this by a few ?? In review, I don't see a sand run from this one before, and I made it a value bet??

Signature:

It's not a real horse race if there ain't no pace!

IMO, Biscay is off form and may need a rest, she was held on form by both the winner and Majolica, and ran accordingly (easy afterwards hey!)

Aussie's Captain IMO not too genuine and not one to rely on; has run OK on the sand before, so I don't think the sand was the problem.
