Now the jockeys don't get interviewed after the race in case they speak bad about the tracks ??
Is this true ??

So now Vaughan Marshall and the jockeys are also blind and nuts......I wonder what story the spin-doctors will come up with now ?? I spoke to a Gauteng trainer last weekend who walked the Scottsville track (Friday) and said there is more sand than grass on the track. He was "happy" that his horse was a good sand worker.
How much longer are our animals going to be subjected to these shocking surfaces ? Punters to shocking results ? The only smiley faces are the "VETS"
I am past the point of saying we have been at "this" for years now, we need solutions not excuses. HEADS must ROLL !

Watching replays of the sprints at Scottsville..so much dust and clods being kicked up by the main race. Did look very "bush racing" like . Not really a G1 sprint day. Ok so its hard to keep a course in good condition with racing going on all the time. The responsible people , who thought the loss of Clairewood was a good idea were supposed to ensure what was gained by the loss was adequately compensated for . Complete fail.

Having read what Pirates had said about me and everyone else I asked if I could invite him to come with me in Wednesday an hour before the first and inspect the track. While we there we can look at the polytrack which is supposedly not good for horses. You live right there Pirates. Date?

I have read the article in the Sporting Post regarding the state of the tracks, the Tellytrack directive regarding jockey's feedback regarding the tracks and the meeting held regarding the state of the tracks.
The fact that Gold Circle invited Lafferty & Rivalland as two of the three trainers and the fact that they attended is, in my opinion an absolute disgrace. If you are employed or derive an income from the very company that you are asked to give input on as an impartial party is a contradiction in terms and definately a conflict of interest. The fact that the person setting the meeting invited these trainers and also that these trainers agreed to attend is a very very worrying ethical issue for me.
There is no answer on the directive issued or not issued by Tellytrack.....why? GC seem to give answers that have nothing to do with any solution.
Transparency & ethics are a huge issue for me and it seems that this is not top priority.

Craig the first solution to any problem is to admit that there is a problem in the first place. I am not an expert on turf but there is nothing wrong with my eyes and that track is nowhere close to where it was in its heyday. So why don't we do something really refreshing and stop pointing fingers or defending the indefensible and admit that the problem exists?

OTA no one is saying it is perfect. Everyone at the meeting admitted that but it is in a much better condition than the past few years. The Jockey's are only worried about certain sections in the last 800m and we went and looked etc. If anyone wants to join me before the first on Wednesday I am sure it will be fine. I have invited Pirates to view the course himself as he had some stupid comment to say about me. Whether he comes or not is another question as he might hate to be proved wrong or see the other side of it. We can look at the polytracknas well.

T, 4 jocks were also invited , they said they would attend this meeting and didnt even pitch....... :pinch:
Why if you employ professional people do you need the opinion of trainers and jocks about the condition of a track ????
My problem is, if this track manager is "good" at his job and his "hands" have been tied by management to do what he needs to do to get the track to an acceptable standard, who is to blame ? This is the crux of the matter. Who is responsible for the decision making about the tracks and funding thereof ? These people need to be held accountable. Will it happen ? NO !! The pile of shit being swept under the carpet, due to bad decision making, over the years is now becoming a problem for them to get through the front door. It must take them an extra hour just to get to their desks every morning.
