great win by the 3yr old filly.i never thought i would see a 3yr old filly win the met in my lifetime,unless it was trained by M DE KOCK or S TARRY.great ride by g v niekerk and a great training feat by j snaith.

I remember MOMF saying my comment about Gold Standard being overrated was one of the silliest he had seen on ABC.

he finished 5 lengths off at 20/1 - We all know he is not the same horse since his injury , however I hope he comes back for the owners , but also think it might be time to send him to do his Duties ,

Imo a very tough race to rate - either Marinaresco, Legal Eagle and Captain America ran 7 to 8 pounds below their ratings, or both Oh Susanna and Last Winter are superstars

Oh susanna will be 116 rated after today.

2/3 linehorses in the race legal eagle , marinaresco and captain america ran to 117/118
Beaten on average 3 points but gave oh susanna 5 points sex allowance .... thus she ran to 116 rating.


What is interesting is that she will now be rated 8 points better than snowdance after today so in the July will have to give 4kg to snowdance but we know snowdance is atleast 5 points better than oh susanna .

Food for thought . If the july is run after todays new ratings are out it will be a matchrace between snowdance and african night sky .... ans wont get any penalty for running 14/15 points above his rating ...... but we dont know how effective snowdance will be over the 2200 but ANS will be even better .

So .... i think ANS will just run a prep before the july not to get a penalty and then win the july on todays performance in a canter.

Both superstars imo. Oh Susanna first 3 year old filly to win the Met in many many years and last winter with a bit of luck could still be unbeaten. That finish was incredible, came from miles back
