In our executive tent......only TWO tote operators for 200 people......PATHETIC........when i complained i was told - 4 terminals were ORIGINALLY BOOKED _ but some dick head changed it to 2 terminals .....someone needs to be fired over this..

Thank goodness for my tablet and WSB i got all my bets on.....plus a FEW on the tote.

Seen a few folk saying they wouldn’t go because of the strike, not sure how that hindered the crowd ?

I was in the Peninsula Room. The tote terminals were pathetic. there were 3 but 1 was totally off from the outset. they had a technician there but not fixed. I also missed my bipot and then complained as the lady never knew how to accept the R50 coupon. I told the manager that this was not the time to train on the job. I was looked at and told they not trainees.

I went downstairs once to the grass and there were very few people

As I said Elvis poor...how old is Kenilworth Course, what have they done to try and bring the horses closer to the crowd, In fact what have the administrators done to improve anything at the racecourses in the country?

I was also not too happy about the P6 setup....u now have to call the bets...no coupons where i was. You know how risky this can be !

My first bet of the day was INCORRECT .... i called R100 each way # 5 ??......she ended up giving me R 50.00 e/way i noticed the error, told the teller and let the bet stand ..... ended up a loosing bet.

....the on course experience is no longer geared for the tech savvy punter....must have Wi Fi an internet cafe set up on all courses....until that happens none will want to go and deal with the under trained and ill prepared human element....just phoning a bet in is a major problem... no longer speak that lingo...nor do they understand mine.... :(

even when one has plenty data.....the connectivity on course on a normal quiet day is rather dismal....now hold an event for the selfie mad and hip social media crowd....and try and get a connection..... :S....cellular saturation is a major frustration....

It is ironic that my local tab - BENONI- has free wifi yet the guys that live in the place hardly have a smartphone between them and would battle with anything more modern than a Nokia 3310 ! I kid you not - There is a bank of about 4 terminals that are connected to the net which is linked to Supabets - These gather dust as I think the person that was originally paid to educate punters on the use of these seems to have either been fired or transferred months ago - I think some education at branch level would help but the kind of crowd that goes Racing for Entertainment are dead without tech and the web so having free wifi is worth more than having 20 dancing girls offering to teach punters how to play - I'm sure some fairly simple IT guy could put up a greeting MSG when you log on to all the Racing links needed to have a simple punt - eg How to take a bet(fill in forms) - A map of the course... free form guide... How to set up online account... etc ... Imagine IF 10k new punters could sign up with Tabonline as they entered the course and could either deposit using tokens or Credit Card transactions and be up and running in minutes - No need to stand in those terrible lines - and then they are in the system .. Give them an online free bet of R100 as opposed to R50 (or whatever they give free now when you buy those expensive tickets) - It amazes me that all the top people in Racing(the operator) have either a Tablet or Phone as an extra limb(go into a meeting and you are not sure if they are surfing, answering emails or just going onto ABC to read the scandal! :P ) so they should realise the importance of getting the digital hook that is needed to entice youngsters to future events.

Multi that's an excellent point.. the individuals who are supposed to make forward changes ie between the 70s and now.. 50 years later don't even have any idea why people at the course even need wifi pal.. In fact in the box at Turfomtein most times Vodacom does not even connect

.....cant believe these guys at the operator cannot move forward...the free Wi Fi is at Betting World branches.....but to attract high level punters to the VIP sections.....and little education for the oke with or without a device....last thing I want to do is leave the comfort of my house and trek km to a venue to use their Wi Fi and not have control of the TT remote....what are they thinking....the race course should have been sorted with Wi Fi before rolling it out at BW brances
.....rather go to the course and watch some live action but have bets on a device while moving between the parade ring and a seat at a table.....cant be more simple....
