Not many sleeps left to Tuesday

It's always a case of punters vs bookies and the following races will be the deciding factor

Tuesday is a massive start with

GETABIRD 22/10
FOOTPAD 14/10
BUVEUR DAIR 6/10
APPLES JADE 7/10

Maybe a yankee, but expect the later 3 to win

Wednesday has

ALTIOR at 8/10 and SAMCRO 9/10 as the double the books will fear

Thursday is probably the day to miss if you are attending the meeting

UN DE SCEAUX 16/10 and LAURINA 8/10 ......

Friday is the big one and have gone for MIGHT BITE to win the Gold Cup at 7/2

Whatever you do or punt will never be easy next week but you can be assure of a fantastic festival

Good punting

Loads of hype surrounding Kalashnikov and his chances in the Supreme Novice's Hurdle opener on Tuesday. And after his effort at Newbury last time out there's obviously no doubt that he goes in the soft.

Favourite backers should steer a wide berth this week as the ground is going to produce many an upset result.

I will be looking for horses 16/1 plus and all i need is 3 or 4 to come in over the week.

Clash of the titans in store as Douvan declared for Champion Chase
BY RACING POST STAFF10:28AM 12 MAR 2018
Douvan has been declared for Wednesday's Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival with Ruby Walsh taking the ride.

Trainer Willie Mullins said Walsh felt Douvan should run in the race instead of the Ryanair, which had been mooted as a more likely target as recently as Sunday.

Mullins said: "Ruby has been very happy with Douvan in recent days and was keen to ride him in the Champion Chase rather than in the Ryanair. That made my mind up and [owner] Rich Ricci was happy with that."

Mullins will also run Min in the Champion Chase, with Paul Townend taking the ride. Altior is the 10-11 favourite for trainer Nicky Henderson in what is set to be an all-star clash.

Reaction: ante-post expert Tom Park

So Douvan is now going to run in the race he was in, but then ruled out of, and then back in, but then ruled out of and now and then back in. At least we now have the race we've all been waiting for, with Altior, Min and Douvan all clashing in a Wednesday spectacular.

Also on Wednesday, Irish banker Samcro heads 14 declarations for the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle, in which he will take on Next Destination.

Invitation Only, who was a 12-1 chance for the RSA, has been scratched, with ten runners declared headed by Presenting Percy. Invitation Only is also entered in the JLT Novices' Chase on Thursday.

Max Dynamite, who was entered in three handicap hurdles at the festival this week, will run in the Coral Cup. He is one of 26 runners in the 2m5f contest with Project Bluebook sneaking in at the bottom of the weights.
