A few months ago hawwaam was "probably" not going to run in the July and baharin was their "July horse". Today Mike says that there was "never any doubt", according to him that hawwaam would run in the July.
They got all the pebbles and the cheese and the nuts and the acorns!!!
Good for them I guess????
Didn't they do a similar thing with Star Defence / Horse Chestnut too ?
And this was also published in March :
According to Turftalk, De Kock and Gold have decided to bypass the SA Derby — the third leg of the Triple Crown — and the Vodacom Durban July for which the colt was generally a 5-1 chance. His mission during the KwaZulu-Natal season would be the Daily News 2000 and possibly the Champions Cup.
That takes us to the end of the season — where to then? There are two possibilities: Hong Kong and the UK.

Have you considered that Doublemint in all likelyhood needed the 1900 run - and Snaith on record saying that there was not much between his runners going into that race - and so it proved to be; also Snaith said he will make sure that his MR remains as is .... might well backfire if he Doublemint does not make the final field though
