Hi Frodo, yes i was using 10k as an average cost........It is a great system when you think about it, the breeder, trainer, jockey, vet and the administrator all get paid and the owner sits with the deficit and has no say in the management of the system, neither does the punter.

Tigershark - Succinctly summed up!
Sadly the time may well have arrived for many of us to exercise the ultimate form of protest - just leave.
I have been test driving my own advice since the end of June and have not had a runner or bet in any shape or form. It has been a remarkable experience as it represents my first completely uninterrupted break from the game since 1972.
I have learned that one horse in training equates to me taking my lady to our favourite restaurant no less than 2,5 times per week. Every week. As a return on the 'entertainment rand' when compared to SA Racing 2019 there is no comparison.
I have suddenly created the time to re-ignite many social contacts which I had neglected over the years.
I am enjoying new experiences which my committment to 'the game' often shunted aside.
I am finding I have a LOT MORE disposable cash.
Occasionally I tune in to Tellytrack to see 'what's happening'. One yawnfest polytrack race accompanied by an unfathomable result and I switch channels.
I've said it before and I'll say it again : I wish I had bought more Porsches and fewer horses.
