Yet another 50-1 first timer wins with nothing on it.
6 Bold Horizon # 20.00 25.00 22.00 30.00 35.00 40.00 45.00 50.00
I see it's from the Goosen stable.
No disrespect intended just would like to know how these betting opportunities for the connections manage to get missed?
A bet at these odds and the horse could be paid for in 2 minutes.

What can I say? I won over R200k and I can prove it. I could not believe that it continued to drift even with doubles into it for the best part of R80k ( i took doubles with it at 16/1)

But having said that the UK based owners had money on in the UK. Also my ( the irc) relationship with Mr Goosen is limited to emails and updates on WhatsApp so even though he was quietly confident there was not co ordinated plan to punt the horse.

10 years ago this horse would have started 2/1 but sadly those days are gone

Hi Easy.

Well done to you and the owners for getting on. Really happy for the syndicate. I am sure there is never a better feeling having your horse run and you punt it and it wins.

Stiff about taking 16s and it drifted out at around 40/1.

The next time any your horses runs- we/I would appreciate a comment/ thoughts on the horses chances.

So we/I can have a few bob on and not as near to win close to 200k. Just to perhaps spark up an interest again.

Unfortunately as a punter (no fault of yours) we punt blind when there are first timers in a race.

As punters we should not rely on any assistance when it comes to inside info. Horse was punted in UK so there was some kind of info out to the connections and we'll done to them for striking their bets. The MDK first timer was punted on July day in Turrffies... bolted in and no word pre race about its chances......

Sadly we punters are on a hiding to nothing and I for one expect nothing from these trainers and owners.Very few are obliging about publicly expressing their views on a horses chances....

These same people at the same time complain about tote turnovers etc... how do they expect the game to flourish when they withold important info..... just my 2 cents worth...

Hi Duke.

Cheers for the comments and thoughts.

Exactly my thoughts. I also do not "expect" any detail and info.

It would however be a great help to the punting public.

The ONLY reason any money was won was because of the price. There was NO punt. The stable is not in the best of form and myself and Mr Goosen have not spoken to each other for nearly 2 months now. As far as I know it was made public knowledge that it had a chance. Having said that so was Battle of Stirling in the 2nd.

I can only conform that there was genuinely no punt. Like i said last night had our relationship been like it was in the past the horse would have started at 2/1.

He is a nice horse and could be heading in the right direction but to be fair the field was not the strongest and his winning time was slower than the any other 1100m race on the day. The horse himself was still green so I suppose he could improve.

I will say that anyone that knows my style of play will be surprised that I never even took my usual stable diet of bets. Hollywood can confirm that my bets are always as follows:

exacta floating banker with field
trifecta banker with field field (10x)
quartet banker with f x f x f

this happens every single time I punt a horse at 10/1 or bigger and yesterday NOT 1 of these bets were taken.

So I assure you that there was not "hidden move" its just a series of events that lead to it starting at that price BUT it still dumfounds me that he did drift.

No the horse was backed in the UK because the horse is owned by Mr and Mrs Viljoen and the IRC and we (the IRC ) syndicated it to 4 UK based clients. There was NO punt. The most had on in the UK was £50 ew.
