Durbs, you still think Cheyne is a "bad" jock?

Was a disgrace, just sitting on the horse. She must have been scared as she didn’t move. I feel for anyone who backed the horse as with some vigor it would have been a different result
Come on guys- this was only her second ride, she’s got a lot to learn. Give some credit to the winning rider- he cleverly closed the gap on the rail so that she was then forced to shift inwards. If he leaves the gap open, she had all the momentum and would probably have won hands and heels.

I must have been watching another race. I thought she had no choice but to switch in.

It wasn’t about the switching it’s about the strength of the ride. Yes we know it’s her second ride and can only improve from more experience.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) From the 300m, REAL ADVISOR (+E Watkinson) was carried out by I DID WHAT I DID (+L Geledu), which shifted out. Thereafter REAL ADVISOR (+E Watkinson) was switched in to continue its run at the 200m.
b) Trainer WA Nel called for a race review which was followed by him lodging an objection as the trainer of the second placed horse against the winner on the grounds that the winner had carried his horse out and had forced it to switch at the 200m. After hearing all the evidence and considering the distance of 1.25 lengths between the two horses at the finish, the stewards could not be satisfied that REAL ADVISOR (+E Watkinson) would have finished in front of I DID WHAT I DID (+L Geledu) and therefore over ruled the objection. Trainer Nel’s deposit was refunded.
c) Work Rider L Geledu was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of I DID WHAT I DID he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to REAL ADVISOR at the 200m. Work Rider Geledu signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in 1 work rider’s race.
d) I DID WHAT I DID, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JMT Stewart was advised. (BM)
