Jockeys are monitored and fined regularly for night riding out
You can see the fines here www.nhra.co.za/index.php/registrations-l...egistrations-changes
Maybe the fines are not strong enough? Maybe the stipes have nae baws?

29 lengths behind last start and now wins at 30-1.
Favorite at 2-1 runs third to last.
Second fav also unsighted and stable companion to the winner.
But we will probably hear that it was showing exceptional work at home.
so I remember this one...I fancied it in it's last two runs and made it my selection...Looked very well, which is what I go on...but the distance in each occasion was 600m + further than today...

my point... a horse in good condition, but obviously in the incorrect race...but I must admit...I thought an Ideal World with a Horse Chestnut mare would want 2000m+ we know nothing...

Did not notice that ... but how about Gareth Wrights ride on Polyniece when he saw the stable companion had the race at his mercy 300m's out ....stopped riding immediately and cantered to the post.. with a little mock 'wave' with the crop 50m's out.
For the record I am NOT talking from my pocket... just made my jaw drop when I saw it. I thought maybe the horse had gone wrong
b) POLYNIECES : Not striding out right front and returned post-race having cast the left front shoe.

b) Trainer P Gadsby appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the poor performance of CONKER THE WORLD on 26 December 2020. In this regard, he explained to the Board that, the fitting of blinkers for today’s run attributed to the improvement shown and he is further of the opinion that CONKER THE WORLD is better suited to the shorter distances of 1100m to 1200m. Mr Gadsby undertook to race this filly with blinkers and initially over shorter distances similar to today’s race in the near future. Notwithstanding this explanation, Mr Gadsby’s attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to in and out running and advised that should this horse not maintain consistent form going forward, it may be suspended.
b) CONKER THE WORLD raced equipped with blinkers (advised 01.03.21/07h49).
I have seen far too many equipment changes made raceday that result in improved performance - The NHRA should stop the practice of late equipment changes - The racing equipment you declare on acceptance should be that that you use in the race.

They just can't enforce the in and out running rule here in KZN as then we will have too many 3 or 4 horse races.
