I don't think that Warrior saw out the 1800m in the sticky going. He was perfectly placed throughout, but could not finish off.
Hoedspruit back to his best after poor effort last time. Crimson King is not a natural front runner, but with no pace on I think that Winnaar did the right thing in setting a reasonable pace when taking the lead. Looked a winner until the last 50m. The difficulty with rating this race is the proximity of the 3rd horse, Somerset Maughan, which was 10kg out at the weights.
It looks like Crimson King and Hoedspruit should fight out the last leg of the series. Pace will again be a problem, and its likely that we will see quite testing going.
Doubt if Warrior will try the 2400m after this run.

Marina should come to Durban.
