quinton de kock and sca

this saga has infuriated me.
for the record i am not commenting on blm - the merits or otherwise thereof are just too divisive .
what has got my goat is this
in all international sporting codes there are strict rules forbidding government interference and political expression.
take football. i remember several african federations being suspended by fifa for government interference amongst which was nigeria. pep guardiola was fined heavily for wearing a yellow ribbon in support of the catalonian independence drive as an example of zero tolerance of political expression.
similarly in cricket zimbabwe was suspended for government interference as afghanistan is being monitored for womens rights abuses. logos on shirts are strictly watched and have to comply with the rules.
what i dont understand is how blm has become an exception to these rules. can anyone enlighten me please.

My observation is that De Kok is a free spirit who is one of only two SA players, with KR who would be considered for a World Cricket X1.
It says very little for CSA that they made Quinton captain after Faf called it a day.
It indicates that they are poor judges of people and the consequence was having been backed into a corner and accepting the captaincy the Proteas had a poor run .
Significantly de Kok had a complete loss of form and requested a break from the game.
I have no idea how this is going to roll out but it could end in tears.

Does anyone actually care about cricket? Loosers the lot of them having never won a single trophy of significance ever.

SA did win the 1998 Champions Trophy (beat West Indies) and 1998 Commonwealth Games gold medal (beat Australia)...the team at that time really should have won the 1999 World Cup...I still feel a bit sad to this day how it all ended and cannot watch a replay of the last over again...

It wouldnt surprise me if Quinny called it day with SA cricket and retired from all forms of the game, to concentrate of playing IPL (big bucks) Big Bash (Aus) and other 20/20 forms of cricket...he is 31 now ...time is short...

No-one of sound mind would disagree that racism is a problem that needs to end...but as a few persons of African descent said on the radio this morning, it cannot be stamped out of the hearts of people (as it is hate) by dictating that one take a knee or other symbolic gestures...it starts by each and every one of us making a conscious decision to treat out fellow human with the humanity and respect all life deserves...do not be guided by others (low) standards in how you treat all life and do not ascribe to all the despicable actions of some...

I cannot control anything beyond the tip of my nose so must do my best on that front daily and that may just rub off on others in a positive way to get them to behave better than they were previously (if displaying hateful behaviour)...if they still act in a despicable manner, that is on them and they must face the consequences that come from that...and nothing symbolic will change that...even legislation won't...

Trouble is these days everything has to be politically correct.
You can't say anything without someone having a go and telling you how you should react to this changing fucked up world.

At my age I don't actually care about all this shit that goes on and what the new normal is.

In the good old days, you would get a smack from your teacher and if you told your dad, he would also give you another Crack for giving the teacher shit.
If a policeman walked past you would certainly show him respect.

So all these protests about basically everything just drive me crazy.
I am not even going to mention the major shit in SA we have to tolerate but just checked sky news where protests in the UK where some people were actually glued themselves to the road to stop the traffic.

The police and medical personnel were gently trying to remove glue from their hands ✋
Then take them carefully to the curb.
I would have hit them with a baton and told the truck drivers to carry on with the delivery.
Then charged them for damaging the trucks.

Have a good day and happy Punting 😊

I can certainly identify with the teacher example...mother, father, teacher then God...you close to dead if you disrespect a teacher and it gets home...and no-one could save you...no laws about children's rights...

People have made an industry out of being offended on behalf of some-one else...patronising paternalism and depriving them of their agency to decide for themselves...but it has made lots of money for the "leaders" of an array of un(worthy) causes and that's what it comes down to...money...none of which you can take with you...live like kings for a brief period only to be known as ethical paupers for all eternity...

I have said this before...you alone know your own truth and nothing false anyone says about you can or should offend you...if they are saying the truth, then introspect and change if you feel it necessary otherwise ignore and go and live the one life we will ever have...

There is a vast difference between standing against racism and taking the knee in support of BLM. We have enough of our own shit to concern ourselves with American issues.

The problem is that by implication if someone does not take a knee they are racist according to the cancel culture which CSA has joined. The decision CSA took is not legal as it is in conflict with an individuals right, i.e. not to be a racist but hold a different opinion.

There was a group once that would take your life if you were circumcised....
